Spring has finally sprung and you know what that means? Picnic season!

We’re talking overflowing wicker hampers with fresh pastries and deli cheeses to really feel that cottage-core vibe. Picnics are best when you can bask in the British sunshine with a glass of something fizzy and a good book. Sounds like pure bliss to us.

We have some amazing lists to help you plan the picnic of dreams, let’s go…

Let’s set the scene

The location is arguably the most important part of your picnic. For the ultimate cottage-core spots take a look at our Bimbler’s, thewanderlustwithin, Placelist. Here are some of our favourite Bimbles they’ve saved…

Kyoto Garden

Step into another world with this garden of amazing Japanese architecture and wildlife. You’ll find lots of photo opportunities and areas to sit and enjoy your lunch.

Another Bimbler, Daisy_haslam, loves the Kyoto Gardens too: “Gorgeous Japanese themed garden. Really feels like you’re abroad somewhere when you come here! Bring a flask of hot chocolate in the winter or have a picnic in the summer. Wonderful nostalgic atmosphere to share with friends, a partner or simply on your own.

Brockwell Park

An oasis in South London this park has gorgeous city views, walled gardens and lots of space to place your red and white check picnic blanket.

The Pergola Hill and Garden

A hidden gem in Hampstead Heath, this garden has gorgeous expansive views framed with winding wisteria (perfect for photos) and the wonderful architecture of a Manor house. Not known to tourists so this is definitely a hidden gem.

Make sure to check out the placelist on Bimble to save the picnic spot that’s perfect for you.

Not forgetting the food

Picnics are the ultimate lunch. From fresh sourdough and hummus, you can graze to your heart’s content. We’ve got not one, but two placelists that we recommend. issyharley has our delicatessen sorted with their Soho’s Italian gems placelist and gaelle_monin has the mouth-watering cakes with their Best bakeries in London. What a dream team!
