On Wednesday morning Bimble was out and about early — albeit in Ukraine — where we’d been working all week getting to grips with our brand new office. But something was wrong. The systems we have in place to monitor traffic to the platform (including new sign-ups) were HAYWIRE. Numbers so high, we hadn’t seen the like of them :)

Panicking and now en route to the airport to catch our flights home, we were Macbooks-on-our-laps, raising the alarm from our taxi. The story ends better than it began. The Wall Street Journal, America’s biggest newspaper by circulation had featured Bimble in their “Off Duty Travel” section. And it was having a serious, dial moving impact.

“Welcome to America”, said so many of the emails we received. “Been struggling when I find cool stuff to save it quickly” “This app is a great idea and will be very successful” What a week, we said, having said exactly the same thing the week before. And so it began. News of Bimble was being shared all over social.

Shout out to NYC in particular for the truly awesome Bimbles being shared. Join in! It’s about sharing the places you love, to support your local independents and exchange recommendations with your friends. It’s also super fun. So if you fancy it, follow along. We can all take our imaginations on a wander to New York this weekend on Bimble.

Whilst you’re there, take a tour of our ‘Pick of the Week’, with lots of Bimbles of New York, and others from New Orleans, to Tokyo, Bath to Lake Como, there are great little places in neighbourhoods all over the world!
