This is important. And incredible. Did you know that for every £1 spent in a local independent shop, restaurant or bar, at least 50p circulates right back into the local community? YOUR community 💰

If you shop online or in an out-of-town chain, that’s just a minuscule 5p 😟

Great little places make our neighbourhoods special. Your favourite bakery around the corner, or a beautiful shop selling flowers, furniture, or fish — this is the local magic.

These independent businesses are the glue in the community: where you see familiar faces from down the street.

Few things drive Bimble into a funk as much as a boarded up shop: the broken dream that was once the pride and joy of its owner. And we’ve all lost out when a great little place has had to go.

#AdoptAShop is the brainchild of the Irish historian, Tim Carey, who tweeted about three places he’d really miss if they didn’t make it.

Tim’s tweet took off and has been picked up by caring people from Colorado to Colchester. A few days ago, Mary Portas threw her support behind it too. It’s a thing, a really good thing and with your help, we’re going to boost it even more.

The premise of #AdoptAShop is simple: choose three businesses you want to support. Make a point of buying from them whenever you can and share your list on social.

Bimble is the app for great little places and making and sharing lists of places we love is what the Bimble community does. 2500 places were listed and shared last week alone 🤭

We’ll be launching a competition in the next few days, so keep an eye out! Details will follow, but step one is to add #Adoptashop to your Bimbles of the places you’d miss most if they didn’t make it into 2021.
